ANGIE BACHO-MANALILI
Music Director
The Spiritual Image
Philippine Heritage Foundation Chorale
SangTinig Chorale
South Hayward UMC Chancel Choir
An accomplished choir director, soloist, and pianist, Angie Bacho-Manalili was born in Manila, Philippines, to the late Col. Delfin R. Bacho and Lily de Armas.
Angie is married to Eliezer Y. Manalili, and they have three childrenChristine Joanna, Christopher John, and Christopher James. The Manalili Family lives in
the Bay Area where Angie feels she can move freely to attend to her various community musical projects.

Angie graduated from the University of the Philippines and had the late Prof. Rey T. Paguio as her piano teacher since she was seven years old. A gifted
mezzo-soprano and especially talented alto, Angie, at age 15, became the youngest member of the world-renowned University of the Philippines Madrigal
Singers and joined the groups many tours from 1967 to 1974 to different cities in Asia, Europe, and the United States.

Pursuing her discovered forte in the field of music, Angie devoted her time in choral conducting in churches, civic organizations, private institutions, and
government agencies. Angie was once part of the Department of Tourism in the Philippines for 13 years as Consultant on Cultural Affairs. Her long list of
community services earned her the Outstanding Citizen Award of Kalookan City and Outstanding Methodist Award in the field of music.

For several years, Angie was the pianist/organist and choir director of Knox UMC in Manila. Perhaps, by divine design, Angie is to continue her special
ministry and unselfishly share her musical talents here in the United States through Valley Faith UMC in Sunnyvale, CA (former music director), Melrose
UMC (now South Hayward UMC), The Spiritual Image, the Philippine Heritage Foundation Chorale, and SangTinig Chorale. Angie is a gift to the community in
a very extraordinary tone.

Angie was co-music director for the Lea Salonga Concert in November 1997. In 1998,
along with the delegation headed by Bishop Melvin Talbert of the United Methodist Church,
Angie was invited to conduct the 1,500-voice combined choirs from all over Metro Manila
during the Centennial Celebration of Methodism in the Philippines held at the Quirino
Grandstand with then President Fidel Ramos as guest speaker.

In October 2000, the Archdiocese of San Francisco celebrated Jubilee 2000 Mass at
PacBell Stadium, and Angie conducted the multi-cultural choir, together with thousands of
performers and instrumentalists. In August 2002, the First Global Filipino Community
Networking Convention was held at San Francisco Moscone Center. Angie conducted the
more than 200-voice combined choirs from different denominations all over the United
States.

In November 2005, Angie received a Certificate of Recognition from the California
State Legislature for her dedication and exemplary service to the community,
given by Leland Yee, Speaker Pro Tempore.

As Music Director since 1996, Angie has shaped The Spiritual Image into a
definite "musical powerhouse" which has left everyone who has heard them
spellbound.  Angie's leadership, delivered in patience, understanding, and
excellent taste in music, contagious enough to bring together volunteer
singers to offer community memorable entertainment. In May 2004, Angie
conducted The Spiritual Image at The United Methodist Church General
Conference held in Pittsburgh, PA, which was attended by 1,000+
delegates and guests from all over the world. Angie is now directing and
choreographing The Spiritual Image on a 5-concert tour from the United
States to the Philippines.
